giveittoyoursister: (z - Kitty!)

Room 232, Wednesday Morning

There was something oddly freeing about being a kitten. Kittens didn't have a lot of complex emotions, and no one really judged a kitten for being filled with a deep, burning rage at the world. Unless you counted obnoxiously cooing over how cute your expressions of deep, burning rage were.

There was also the discovery that dust motes were also the most amazing thing in the world. Well, second most. Pouncing on dust motes was the actual most amazing thing in the world. Vi was stalking a particularly fascinating one right now, crouched low to the carpet, butt wiggling in anticipation. Picking her moment, she pounced, a graceful apex predator.

...and crashed on the carpet in an awkward pile of naked girl.

To be fair, those expressions of deep, burning rage really were overwhelmingly adorable.

But talk about timing! Because of course it would be exactly that moment when Libby came back from the common room to have some breakfast before heading off to her class. That was just how these things worked.

"Oh!" There was a moment of wide-eyed surprise before Libby could chase it away with a blink and a very quick diversion of her eyes toward the ceiling. Thankfully, at least she expected this, thanks to her research into the matter, and, hey, if Vi was going to turn back to herself, thank God it happened here in the safety of their own room rather than somewhere else! "Good! You're back!"

Libby sort of bit her lip a little against the urge to point out that Vi had been a cute (albeit rage-filled) kitten, but she did actually have a very strong sense of self-preservation (most of the time). So she just instead focused on keeping those eyes politely trained on the ceiling.

"Back to your normal self," she clarified, "is what I meant. But, yeah, apparently, it's a thing that happens sometimes around here, people just turn into animals, there's a whole file down at the clinic about. It seems mostly harmless, though..."

But with that, her curiousity and her training got the better of her and she just had to ask, "How are you feeling, though? Do you...do you need anything?"

Other than clothes, obviously, but, well, one thing at a time.

Libby's nose scrunched a little, because the narrative pretty much said the exact thing that was at the forefront of her brain, but bringing it up felt like it was just going to make things awkward.

More for her than for Vi, she was pretty sure.

"I can go get you some food?" she offered hopefully, and, because of all the gems about cute cats and clothing she was passing up, she had to add, "Probably not tuna."

And then by the time she got back, Vi will have figured out the clothing situation. Or, well, lack thereof.

Boy, Libby thought to herself, to distract from the fact that her cheeks were feeling pretty warm all of a sudden, continuing her long and steady gaze at the ceiling, I should really put something up here to make it a little more interesting to look at...

"Can't have that," she agreed. "It'll be quite the sensation for the squirrels, I'm sure.

"Any particular requests?" she then offered, because, yes, food. Focus on the food. She can handle food, Vi can handle her missing hand wraps.

Hey, now, some things were just sacred, and food was one of them.

Well, actually, a lot of things were sacred, in Libby's case. Her current devotion to the ceiling was downright bordering on idolatry, now, too.

But she nodded...as best she could while still managing to divert her eyes. "Be back in jiff, then," she assured her before making her way put the door and being glad she hadn't gotten too far into the room before noticing Vi, because that would have been an interesting thing to navigate.
