29 Chimera Court, Monday Morning

Vi had had a had a big weekend planned even more she'd turned into a tiny kitten. Once she had, it'd turned into an even bigger one, even if she'd missed out on all the parts that required heavy lifting. So now she was curled up on the bed, in a deep sleep that belied the fact she'd been zooming around the apartment barely a quarter of an hour ago.

Somehow, despite being the tiniest of tiny kittens, she was taking at least two-thirds of the bed. possibly more.

"And I like to make sure it lasts as long as possible," Steph replied, shoving Vi ever so gently into the shower. "For both of our benefit."

Vi turned once she was in, trying to pull Steph in against her. "Hey."

"Yes, dear?" Steph asked, fluttering her eyelashes ridiculously at Vi as she pulled the door shut behind them.

"I love you," Vi replied, leaning in to kiss her.

Steph laughed and wrapped her arms around Vi's waist as they kissed, not caring if there was water dripping into her eyes.

"I haven't heard that in like four whole days. I missed hearing it... and I love you too."

"I'll keep saying it then," Vi said, beaming into the kiss. "Because I do."

"I'll enjoy hearing it every time." Steph tried to maneuver them so that Vi was directly in the stream of water, which would have been a lot easier if she'd been willing to disentangle herself from Vi for half a second. Which she obviously wasn't. "And I'll keep telling you I love you right back, because I do."

One day Vi would probably stop looking gleefully pole-axed by Steph saying that, but not today. On the other hand, it made her easier to move around. "You do?"

Steph beamed adoringly at her as she reached up with a handful of shampoo to start washing Vi's hair. "Hell yeah, I do. More than I ever thought I could love anyone."

Vi leaned in to kiss her again, full of feeling, her hands resting on Steph's hips.

Steph's fingers flexed in Vi's hair, but she kept massaging gently at Vi's scalp as she worked the shampoo into a lather, all while kissing her back. They were very good at this by now.

They got a lot of practice in. Vi reached for the soap, hands moving the bar over Steph's skin in long, smooth motions.

They were incredibly dedicated to their craft, that was all.

"Head back," Steph murmured eventually, her usual signal to Vi that she was about to start rinsing the shampoo out, so she should lean back into the spray again.

It did mean she had to stop kissing Vi for a few agonizing seconds, but she'd settle for getting a good eyeful of naked girlfriend to tide her over in the meantime.

Unfortunately Vi had to close her own eyes as she leaned back into the water as the only eyeful she'd have gotten was of suds.

Truly, no one had ever been deprived as she had.

Saffron might beg to differ, but she would concede the point to her beloved Snuggle Human.

"Love you," Steph murmured, trailing kisses over Vi's collarbone as she made quick work of rinsing her hair out. "God, you're gorgeous."

Luckily, Vi didn't need to see to trace her fingers up along Steph's ribs and sweep her thumbs over her nipples.

"I'm not the only one," she murmured, eyes still closed.

"You're not even looking at me," Steph said with a soft laugh, because she couldn't even pass up a chance to give Vi a little bit of shit now, though the laugh trailed off into a gasp as she arched forward into Vi's touch out of pure instinct. She reached for the soap, now, and began to run it over Vi's shoulders. (Which was as much an excuse to feel her muscles as a genuine washing up attempt.) "Unless you were thinking of someone who isn't in this shower?"

"Of course, I'm not thinking of anyone else, I just don't need to look at you to know that," Vi argued, opening her eyes, dark and hungry as her gaze followed her hands. "Certainly helps though."

"What can I say? Only the best for my girl," Steph replied, her fingertips and the bar of soap running precisely over the most recent addition to the tattoos on Vi's forearm. The tip of her tongue flicked out to lick a droplet of water away from her upper lip, and she grinned knowingly at Vi.

Vi brought up her free hand to trace her thumb along the path of Steph's tongue. "Yeah, that's exactly what you are," she murmured, utterly besotted.

Steph flicked her tongue out again, this time trying to catch Vi's fingertip.

"It's nice to be appreciated," she murmured, patting Vi's ass lovingly with the bar of soap.

Vi groaned softly, pressing in closer to Steph.

"Have you scrubbed me down enough for your liking," she asked, because she definitely wanted to get to properly appreciating Steph.

"Maybe. Do you feel clean enough?" Steph asked as her hips rocked instinctively against Vi's, as if they weren't going to be sweaty and in need of another shower soon enough. "Because it's not like having my hands on you is a hardship."

She was not opposed to hurrying up and getting to that appreciation, for the record.

Vi pressed hot, hungry kisses to Steph's neck, teeth scraping along her skin. "The problem is I feel absolutely filthy."

That's what happened when you gave her openings like that.

"Oh, well --" Steph threw her head back and gasped sharply, almost dropping the soap before she scraped together just enough composure to set it back in the dish, then cupped Vi's ass again and dug her fingers into it.

"I can help you do something about that, but soap isn't gonna be what we need."
