29 Chimera Court, Wednesday Evening
Because reasons, Vi was maybe spending even more time hanging with Steph than usual at the moment, which meant things like making sure Steph didn't fall back into her terrible eating habits, and while they could very easily live on take-out indefinitely, Vi, y'know, liked having an excuse to cook for her.
And while dinner wasn't shaping up to be anything fancy, the kitchen was smelling like one of the less dubious food stalls back home and Vi was feeling pretty proud of herself.
[For the girl!]

She was horribly biased.

She made a somewhat vague gesture that Vi would likely understand to mean 'biceps,' because this was a regular Wednesday night conversational topic.

She went to flex for emphasis, which was when she turned into a small, violently pink kitten.

She went around the other side of the table and found Vi in the chair, and immediately made a totally uncool gasping squeak of delight.
"Oh my god look at you," she said, reaching down to scoop Vi up into her arms.

She was mildly concerned that Saffron might just take off with Vi when she was all tiny and... slightly less able to defend herself like this, just so she wouldn't have to share her with Steph any more.

Vi snuggled in against Steph, purring despite herself. She was good staying right there with Steph.

"Okay," Steph said, tucking Vi's tiny fuzzy head under her chin. "I'm taking that as a no, but I'm bringing you in with me tomorrow because you should at least get to ride Little Bot. Don't worry, though. I'll take care of you."
Which was kind of a given but kitten!Vi seemed kind of distressed by this turn of events.

She settled back down in her chair to finish her dinner, which was going to be a challenge since she was still cradling Vi in one arm.
"Well, at least this should go better than last time, when it was me."
On the upside, they'd probably just dodged an argument over how Vi should go on the break trip because even if it was about to be that week, Steph would be okay, really.

And on what probably only Vi considered an upside, if Steph did decide to try and make her go anywhere she didn't want to, she now had many tiny claws for clinging.
