You'd think that by now, Vi and Steph may have started connecting some dots about the school dance and started preparing accordingly. But judging from the clothing flung haphazardly around the apartment, no, they definitely had not.

Still half asleep and looking forward to spending a long, lazy weekend in bed, Vi pulled the blankets in tighter around her, curling in closer to Steph to make up for the brazen theft.

And Vi was outnumbered so she couldn't try to argue the point like she usually wanted to.

"Be nice if it didn't involve anyone's tongue being stuck down her throat," Cerise muttered even as she cuddled into Vi.

Outnumbered by people who knew damn well how she tried to argue the point, even, and could team up on her quite unfairly right now.

"There was no tongue involved," Steph objected.

"This time," Amber grumbled, hugging Vi with one arm and tugging Steph further into the hug pile with the other one. "So you say, anyway. Statistically? Unlikely."

"Okay, that makes it sound like you keep track. Now who's the weird one, huh?" Steph asked, squishing Amber a little bit between herself and Vi as she scooted closer.

Amber looked smug, like she'd maneuvered Steph right into a trap encounter. "I had to get it from somewhere, right?"

"Hey, I love all three of you," Vi said, trying not to laugh. "My three weird girls."

Cerise relaxed at being included in that, until..."...hey!"

"What, did you think your mom here wasn't weird too?" Steph asked, grinning over at Cerise. "Because that is so not the case."

"It's the combo of both of you that makes it weird," Amber tried to object.

"Clearly you're bad influences on each other," Cerise interjected.

"I think you mean the best," Steph countered, and got a light elbow to the ribs from Amber for it.

"Nope. The worst. Definitely the worst."

"She definitely meant the best," Vi said grinning at Steph.

"I can't believe I'm related to all of you." Yes, Cerise was including Steph in that.

"Sorry, but you are," Amber informed Cerise, somehow smug and sympathetic at once. "You're just gonna have to live with it like me."

Steph leaned over and gave Vi another quick kiss, over the sound of Amber's protests.

"Because we are the best, babe."

Cerise added her own protests to the chorus to be soundly ignored.

"The absolute best."

Steph grinned goofily over at Vi, prompting another gagging noise from Amber. "Love you so much."

Look, if their plans for the day were going to be derailed due to surprise kid visits she wasn't above grossing them out about it.

Besides it gave them something to bond over.

"Love you too," Vi said with a crooked grin. "All of you."

Pain shared and all that, right?

"Love you too, Mom," Amber said, hugging her. "Even if you are weird and embarrassing sometimes."

"It is literally a child's obligation to think that about their parents at some point," Steph informed her. "So of course we are."
